As I restore my OS onto a 2014 MacBook while my current one is on its way to Apple for repair, I'm reminded: - Time Machine is simply brilliant, and peerless - The 2014 MacBook is superior in almost every way to the 2017 one. (durable, quieter keyboard, ports you use, MagSafe...)

I wonder how much of Time Machine’s brilliance is because they kept it targeted at well-defined needs instead of allowing scope creep. For example, no TM enterprise features for managed Macs except from third parties afaik.
