if putting a USB stick into a computer is a security risk then this is a failure of the people designing the computer's operating system, not the people putting in a USB stick.

I suspect the problem might be that if someone didn't learn their lesson with badUSB (see: https://opensource.srlabs.de/projects/badusb from ~5 years ago), it doesn't seem likely that they're going to learn it now.
