As I construct an email to Microsoft MSRC explaining how they can decrypt a PGP-encrypted email attachment, I have to imagine that this is further evidence that there's no hope for use of PGP (or GPG) in the real world.

I find it hard to believe they provide the public key, they must know how to decrypt one no?

Part of the problem is that the answer to their question starts with: Well, what email program are you using, and how is it integrated with PGP/GPG? Depending on the answer to that question, you take one of many drastically different paths.
