You do realize there are still people running Windows XP in a live business environment, right? I encounter a couple a month at least when I install new MFPs at customer sites. It's crazy. Windows 7 will be around for a long time yet, regardless of the end of life date.

I don't dispute the doubts you've outlined. I guess I was mostly targeting businesses that aren't criminally negligent. Or people who manage their own PCs.

This is why I urge Win7 users to upgrade to Win 8.1. They'll have 4 years left to upgrade to Win10 or move to another platform. 8.1 is stable, functional, & if they want the Win7 menu, there are 3rd-party products.

I purposely maintain a few Windows 7 computers because we have to deal with a very large variety of radiological imaging CDs some of which won’t run on a more modern OS.
