A couple of years ago Uber changed the iOS app to remove the "while using the app" option for the location privilege. This is when I permanently uninstalled the app. https://www.theverge.com/2016/11/30/13763714/uber-location-data-tracking-app-privacy-ios-android … I suspect that you must have agreed to some prompt at some point when using that version

With the release of iOS 11, Apple makes the "while using the app" location option mandatory. So Uber was forced to provide that as an option. https://www.theverge.com/2017/9/21/16343304/uber-location-tracking-opt-out-apple-ios11 … However, if you've ever had it set to "always", it'll never automatically revert back to "while using the app".

I swear I set it to while using after that update. I don’t understand how it would revert. Set to while using and I’m going to watch it. Isn’t trusting tech companies fun?
