Confirmed: The primary SD card had failed. But not badly enough to make the @Dell IDSDM notice, or even do anything about.
Conclusion: The Dell Internal Dual SD Module (IDSDM) is redundancy theater.

LFMF: Don't ever rely on the Dell IDSDM for anything. Aside from terrible/impractical design, in my statically non-significant sample set of 2 different server models, purchased at different times, I have a 100% rate of data corruption.

In this last case, data was corrupted by the module itself, which was conveniently written to both SD cards. In a prior case, data was corrupted on one card, but the IDSDM didn't notice. In an ideal case, you'll have to swap a card INSIDE of the server, under some PCIe card slotspic.twitter.com/VpnJQ1fUTb
