avidemux has a weird bug where sometimes seems to output corrupted video files, like the timestamps of the frames are wrong, or interleaved. The end result is this, and it's very annoying because I tend not to catch it until after I've run the clip through my autoGIFer.pic.twitter.com/dQJycaKRc0
I suspect that it'd only happen if the video mode is set to the default "copy" mode. If your source video can reproduce this consistently, I'd try a video output mode that actually re-encodes the video, rather than simply copying frames as-is.
