I suspect it's partially due to the power output requirements of the spec. There are three different power specifications and no current markings for what the ports support. Gen public will probably try to plug in 12v and 20v devices into a 5v hub.

I think there is not enough demand yet. There is no technical reason why it can't be built. Micro USB still dominates the market.
