That's Windows 7, so the Adobe Flash versions.

With Windows 10's built-in Flash before today's update, the remote SWF content loads without prompting, as expected. After today's Flash update, the user is prompted.

But the MS has already come up with this - https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Security-Privacy-and-Compliance/Blocking-Flash-Shockwave-Silverlight-controls-from-activating-in/ba-p/191729 … Effective on the latest office 2016/365 current channel.

That's only on O365, and if you're in the Monthly channel, and as of June 2018. If you're in the later channels (and you probably are if a business) it's later.

True, am on it and but yes the half yearly channel would get in Jan 2019. It's good they anticipated the worst of flash sooner than later and here we go with this one

Microsoft included Flash 6 with Windows XP. I figured that they realized that it was a mistake since none of the following versions of Windows didn't. And then Windows 10 happened. I wonder what changed?

Give up your customers' attack surface for money. Smart.

I don't know how truthy it is, or if we'll ever find out. There are theoretical advantages - e.g. MS can deliver Adobe updates.

That's an advantage if everyone wants/has Flash. Otherwise, it's as welcome as bundling Candy Crush.

Office is a great transportation mechanism for delivering payloads and that mechanism is cut for the bad guys and it's huge.
