I generally like the idea of code as a regulatory force, but I’d suggest small experiments before describing this as a great idea. Have you read @PopTechWorks’s Automating Inequality or @sara_ann_marie’s Technically Wrong?
This is such a great idea. Not those, thanks will do! However, taking the laws and writing them as code & making them open source, so that the law is transparent and more readily available to all. Have a look at

Do you think that machines are capable of understanding the original context within which laws were framed, and interpret them within current or future social contexts? And is human society willing to accept a machine’s interpretation of the spirit of laws?

Interesting. Critical to correct application of “The Law” is getting the correct judgement. Judges are supposed deliberate and consider mitigation and circumstance (admittedly they tend to avoid this, to everyone detriment). Machine Law will miss this important aspect.

My point is exemplified by successful parking fine appeals by
