Seems like it might also let you abstract over fields with some extensions. fn get_id<T: { serial_number: u64 } T>(x: &T) -> u64 { x.serial_number } get_id(GoldenTicket { serial_number: 1, ... }); get_id(Car { serial_number: 2, ... }); Feels like structural typing ...
Yeah if Rust were structurally typed, this concept would be a lot cleaner. Eg in Typescript notation, you could write something like fn add_ticket(self: &mut Pick<Self, bars | mut golden_tickets>);

There's an important distinction. Filtering what you can use preserves layout of the thing you are pointing at. But i agree it could be used with genetics in the way
