This looks v useful! The left side looks like Rust source code, what are the entries on the right side (is it a trace)? I’m reading the highlights as the source code that cause the selected areas.

The idea is that the effects of a function are either inputs it mutates, or values it returns. This extension finds all such effects and lists them in a panel. Clicking on an effect shows the slice of the effect (lines of code that influence its inputs).

A function is a story. Reading it top-to-bottom is reading the exposition, then the buildup, then the climax. But thats the most entertaining, not efficient, way to read a story. This UI starts at the climax.
