I've argued HTML is great for beginners for this reason. Absolutely no concept of a compiler error -- browser will always render *something*, just not maybe what you want. Also HTML parsers are really forgiving and can reasonably render partial programs.

Yeah! Incorrect output can be motivating, even funny at times -- feels like "ok now i just need to locally hill climb to the correct answer" As opposed to "... where do I even begin???"
