Are there visual media for mixing commentary and code that are more effective than linear-blog-style? Specifically for: a) code that evolves over time, highlighting diffs (not literate prog on a fixed program) b) simultaneously presenting program, inputs, outputs, and commentary

But more focused on building intuition for design patterns than explaining existing code. Provisions for experiments, dead-ends, backtracking, error messages.
