I've resented that the easiest way to prototype editor-y stuff is with CodeMirror or Monaco, which traps you in a browser (poor file & OS access, naive code is slow, using C libraries/tools is hard). idk if this lite editor is a good platform for that sort of work but optimistic

Btw CodeMirror 6 is pretty good (https://codemirror.net/6/ ). Very clean extensible architecture ==> easy prototyping. I made an extension to gray out unexecuted lines of code, took me like ~15 LOC on the Typescript side.
