A hypothesis: for live programming to scale beyond toy programs, generic low-level visualizations aren't enough. Instead, we need Live Literate Programming: better tools for creating *program-specific* views, which communicate our higher-level understanding.

thanks for the rec! yeah, totally agree re: generic vis I think Learnable Programming is clever because the viz feels kinda generically applicable, but it's actually quite specific... (I get that the essay is more about the principles than the specific viz, but still.)
