Seen this a lot in systems, AI/ML, and graphics. Worth expanding on "objective" as often meaning "has a clear quantitative metric of value", often on standard benchmark datasets. Easy to measure performance, hard to measure decomposition. Lines of code vs. actual usability, etc.
