2/ Programming is setting up, preparing, configuring. Computer programming is setting up computers.

3/ But you can "program" a booby trap, a rube Goldberg machone, dominos, a prank, a surprise birthday, etc. Setting an email filter is programming, changing the settings on your phone is programming.

4/ Anything you do to take effect in the future is programming. Anything you do for now is just using a computer, using something pre-programmed from earlier.

5/ Right now it's really hard to setup computers but computers are only becoming more imprortant. It's key to allow more people to setup computers to be more the way they like: democratizing programming

You're saying we should define programming more broadly. What do we get out of this definition? By calling more things programming, can we realize that certain tools or ideas apply in places we didn't expect? Do we encourage people to cross disciplines in this work? etc.
