The same humour and weirdness now exist in "very """internet"""" culture (inc. Vine, weird twitter, YouTube). Flash was the first way to do rich media across the net, and it really set the tone for what followed, and I think that tone hasn't changed, just broadened.

I'm sad the new mediums that emerged (App Store, yep, but also plain HTML/CSS/JS) didn't allow for rich, self-contained interactivity in the same way. I don't see WASM+Tools helping unless the self-containedness of the SWF comes back.
