The same humour and weirdness now exist in "very """internet"""" culture (inc. Vine, weird twitter, YouTube). Flash was the first way to do rich media across the net, and it really set the tone for what followed, and I think that tone hasn't changed, just broadened.
Important point here (beyond the nostalgia). Flash game sites had an amazing amount of unfiltered creativity that just doesn't seem present in the app stores that replaced them. Maybe WASM + creator tools could change that?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhvey_FjtXA …

I'm sad the new mediums that emerged (App Store, yep, but also plain HTML/CSS/JS) didn't allow for rich, self-contained interactivity in the same way. I don't see WASM+Tools helping unless the self-containedness of the SWF comes back.
