Today is taking a stand against the dangerous use of spyware. NSO Group claims they responsibly serve governments, but we found more than 100 human rights defenders and journalists targeted in an attack last May. This abuse must be stopped.
Why is this WhatsApp’s fault? Shouldn’t the responsibility be on the Governments using these tools? How is this different from, say, the US selling weapons to the Saudis?

Heh. I'm curious what you actually think of this. It seems highly laudable from what I currently know; though I don't know that I can fully understand the potential unintended consequences.

Thank you for taking this stand! I think I speak for many when I say: we'd also like to see a commitment to replace the WhatsApp VOIP stack (and other pieces that handle input) with memory safe alternatives. Doesn't have to be tomorrow, but let's get some ~rust up in there!
