I wish Google Maps had a "I'm walking home by myself at night" mode that would show you a way with well lit paths and open spaces. It always seems to take you on narrow, dark pathways in cities

Same for accessible routes. It doesn’t mention if a route involves e.g. a footbridge over a railway line. You only find out when you’re pushing a buggy that you have to completely retrace your steps and find an alternate route.

We used walking routes in DC with little kids and this was the worst. Another staircase??? They already have "report a crash", it shouldn't be harder to add that kind of feature to walking routes.
