My friend owns a tiny bookshop. Goes in daily and ships books. Sees no one. Why does she have to stop doing this? What safety value is there? Last week I got Vanilla from Dolan Flavoring, shipped from their garage. Risk? Zero. Economic benefit? Huge. @CityPortland

Not to mention, apparently I can get all the tacos I want, but not buy a book? Etsy crafters cannot ship? Family owned businesses can't operate?
@CityPortland@SnyderMayor Please revisit this rule - quickly. Don't destroy Portland's micro-businesses.Show this thread

I don’t get this either. I get the 6-feet apart restriction not being enough, but why can’t solo business owners, or those owned by people that live together, keep going in and shipping items? That makes no sense.

I honestly feel like they simply FORGOT that there is a whole economy that is driven by really tiny businesses in this city. I had an Etsy shop for six years. By this rule, I would not have been able to operate even though I wouldn't leave my house.

WTH
@CityPortland?? What possible harm could these shipments do? Are you stopping Amazon from shipping non-essential things in? No? Then why are you stopping citizens in Portland from doing it?Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Portland should be quarantining all citizens but allowing goods and services to move.
