I clicked it, assuming it was just a cosmetic replacement of the "Send+Archive" button, and it sent that stupid Minions GIF on a work email.
I can't believe how short-sighted Gmail's "Drop Mic" April 1 joke is. It replaces the "Send+Archive" button, and attaches GIFs to sent mail.

I did a little testing: Any email sent with "Mic Drop" is immediately and IRREVERSIBLY muted. Replies skip the inbox, with no way to unmute.

@seldo Yeah, it's off by default. Originally a Google Labs add-on in 2009, eventually incorporated into Settings in 2012. -
@seldo Though everyone using free Gmail saw the "Send & Mic Drop" button, whether they had "Send & Archive" enabled or not.

@jzy For me, even though they don't appear to be muted, replies don't appear in the inbox. Shows up in Sent and All Mail only.
