Check out our new paper looking at how global change driven use of onshore habitat impacts polar bear microbiota. Increased bacterial diversity is seen in onshore bears – could this be driven by differing food resources e.g. bone piles? 🤔

Great natural history study that compiles a range of observations. It's pretty cool - grizzly bears cache prey all the time but rarely do so. A polar bear is not a white grizzly but their ancestral roots show at times.

An important take home here = Although in theory new chemicals reduced acute impacts on the environment, we still don't really have a good handle on nonlethal effects and their potential interactive impacts!

New paper out in . We show that some isolates of the lethal amphibian pathogen are highly resistant to inhibition by probiotics, even when we use potent multi-isolate probiotic cocktails
