If your field: i) tests hypotheses, ii) rewards successful hypotheses with career advancement, and iii) has no stringent mechanisms to prevent researcher biases influencing the evaluation of hypothesis tests, then I'm sorry to say that publication bias exists in your field

One of the most dangerous things many new Ph.D. students believe is that science is "pure" & less biased. It shuts down critically thinking about how unjust & unmeritocratic science culture is. The sooner we realise we're not some magical paradise of fairness the better.

The key question about consciousness is whether the nature of experience is clearly and fully revealed by introspection. If you think it is, then many things follow. But how do you defend that belief, other than by saying that we're strongly inclined to hold it?

First of all congrats to Kasper on the paper! But second of all, I'm SO EXCITED to see an illustration I made make it into a publication 🤩 In case anyone else needs custom graphics to help convey their science, I take commissions!😅

University courses at bachelor degree level seriously need to address their lack of coding courses. These should be mandatory for all sciences, especially social sciences, and part of every research methods course. It should be integral to the teaching of statistics.

Your eyes are back-to-front. You know those light-sensitive photoreceptors? They're right at the very back of yr eyeball, so light has to pass through a whole mass of nerves & blood vessels to get to them. Your blindspot = a hole to allow all those wires to get out to yr brain.
