    While I have problems with many of the candidate's cookie-cutter policy positions on difficult issues, this observation is totally correct. Those who cover politics for a living should not miss trends like this.

    New York Times being New York times RT : Kind of pisses me off that is still asking Who Is Ocasio-Cortez? when it should have covered her campaign. Missing her rise akin to not seeing Trump's win coming in 2016.

    New term: “Sunny day flooding.” High tide plus sea level rise.

    Cities along the Eastern Seaboard of the US have suffered sunny day flooding from seas rising far faster than average. One study published last year shows that from 2011-2015, sea levels rose up to 5 inches, an inch per year:

    The rainy season in the Tokyo area has been declared officially over, 22 days earlier than average and the earliest in history. It normally lasts well into July. In its place, we have intense summer heat.
