And then, those idiots realised that cost of living went up by an exact same amount. And rent went from 1100 to $1500. All you do is drive inflation up by increasing minimum wage. Not that anybody on the left understands basic economics.

No surprise, but not for government the low end of the economy would be showing dismal wage growth because employers have to much power and after the 2010’s, workers fear layoffs/downsizing if they ask for more. Now more than 50% of workers in low wage jobs. Only getting worse.

The prices in the DC area have always been ridiculous. Businesses charge what the market can bear. If they charge too much, consumers stop buying their products, demand goes down & they are forced to lower their prices. They still make a healthy profit. DC went to 15 in Jan2020.
