The library, if all is normal, is government owned and paid for by the taxpayers. It has NO RIGHT to censor what can be read in this way. People who want to read the book pay taxes too and thus pay for the library and the staff!

Public libraries are mainly funded locally w/property taxes. Some state funding and many states have grants that the library can apply. There are also other private grants many libraries apply. They also take donations and often have friends of the library groups that fundraise.

I have three questions: 1) It’s Bob Woodward’s book. He’s a renowned author and has been writing about presidents since Nixon. Did this library carry any of those other books beginning with “All The President’s Men”?

        2) What is their collection development policy (each library should have one) and how does it treat purchases and donations of literature and other media, current and historical?

Maybe it's time to (a) review library book protocol, and (b) get a new director.
