We are a group of five survivors. We survived childhood sexual abuse at the hands of one man. We survived the CJS twice. Our abuser was eventually convicted.

‘Almost 60,000 individuals who report a rape in Britain each year are being let down on a grand scale.’ A crisis in the criminal justice system let down by the who refuse to accept being risk adverse + cuts to their budget are having an impact.

Started sexual violence awareness week by having a panic attack on the the tube bcos someone was wearing the same aftershave as my abuser used to. Love that.

Our governments past have long been happy to ‘educate’ other countries in creating progressive accepting societies but will it speak out against the U.S. on such a massive issue as domestic violence?

This is horrific. COUNTLESS victims of abuse suffer from non-physical violence such as . In not recognising their abuse you are complicit in their abuse. ‘Some 43.5 million women have experienced “psychological aggression” from an intimate partner in the US.’

The Trump Justice Department has quietly changed the definition of domestic violence to ONLY consider physical harm?!? ‘Other forms of abuse such as psychological abuse, + manipulation no longer fall under the department’s definition.’

I should be go out without fear. To the man who leant on me topless and sweaty on the bus; To the man who targeted me, alone on a train carriage, who was masturbating whilst staring at me; To the men who holler out of cars . I should feel safe & now I don’t

In court his defence barrister accused me of lying, attention seeking, making it up for compensation, of false memories. Throwing other abuse at the hands of others in my face “I’m sure you were abused by someone, just not him”

As a victim of child abuse I lived in fear whilst the perpetrator was out with no bail conditions because he wasn’t seen as dangerous as it was “historic”. In fact he was still actively involved in the lives of young girls which sounds like grooming to me

Tory MP "If [self defence] was taught [...] through school it would significantly reduce crime because the potential criminal, murderer or rapist would realise he would have met his match." Also available, lessons in how not to rape and murder

No one believed teacher abused student decades ago until police found him dead. In court they said “..I was attention seeking. They asked me to describe the lock in the stock room but I couldn't remember, they said I was making it up.”

A great explainer on this morning’s from ’s on why the CPS are not taking on as many rape cases as they should be. Reporting is at an all time high, but prosecutions have reached a critical low. ? Thanks for sharing

“Police are referring less [rape] cases because the CPS are not going to prosecute the difficult cases. They’re risk adverse + taking weaker cases out of the system, that means women who are raped are not getting justice + those men are free to go about continuing.” -
