7+6=1+6+6=1+12=13 The core skill is recognizing that 7 is close to 6, so you can pair it with the other 6 to make an “easier” sum (6+6).
I am still confused about second line since you cannot use doubles to make 13. 6+6=12
Right. You take the “remainder” from the paired number (7-6=1) and add it back in later. It’s just fancy rearrangement of terms.
