The Physically Based Rendering book uses Literate Programming. If I didn't have a migraine before I certainly do now.
If it’s your first read-through, skip ch 4 and starred sections in the ToC. Ch 8/9 are the most essential for your purposes.

Gortler is my current favorite for a mix of principle and practice. Most important thing is actually doing the exercises :)
