I don't want your goddamn GUI tool that I can't integrate in a programmatic pipeline, I want a function I can call from code!

Apple, I am ALSO looking at you and offline Metal shader compilation. Stop developing hostile ecosystems we can't plug together.

There is a command line shader compiler if that’s what you’re after?

I know, and it's not good enough when a pipeline is code-driven and wants to output files with a specific format.

So far it's outputting text from the pipeline or calling a command-line utility. I'd rather have a D3D-style compile().
