What API do you suggest I use for converting pixel data btw eg device,
sRGB, CIE XYZ, L*a*b* and LCh?

I'm probably missing something obvious but I can't find anything CIE L* a* b* (or CIE LCh) related in vImage.
On the CPU side, iIt might be necessary to construct a solution from multiple APIs, including CoreGraphics.

So there's no standard/recommended way to convert a pixel image from sRGB to CIE-L*a*b* (and back again)? (CPU, macOS)

We used to have ColorSync for that, but CG is your best bet.

I saw ColorSyncTransformConvert, will try and look harder in CG. Thanks for your help!
