@warrenm Do I need both a vertex and a fragment shader like I do with GLSL? My base template has no vertex buffer to be shaded.
@jessyMeow @RedQueenCoder Omitting a fragment function allows you to write to a buffer from the vertex function; cf. transform feedback.

@jessyMeow Consistency? Also, the framework never assumes vertexFunction is non-nil; it checks the invariant to provide a helpful message. -
@warrenm@jessymeow print(vertexFunction) gives the "fatal error: unexpectedly found nil while unwrapping an Optional value" which is right.
