@Jmade I would think that would just turn into if (copyAllocator == nil) return NO; unless your kernel can operate in-place w/o allocations.

@Jmade That would turn into an assignment to the out param, something like *texture = destTexture, I think. -
@warrenm It’s seems that Swift’s Optionals were throwing me for a loop. How can you tell If the in-place operation succeeds or fails? -
@Jmade Depends entirely on what you're doing; every operation has its own set of failure modes.
