@tapbot_paul on iOS it makes the assumption GPU and CPU share memory. Not sure about Mac yet. If same -> Intel only.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

@rsebbe@tapbot_paul Modern GPUs can share memory with the host more or less transparently, with the help of the OS and drivers.1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

@rsebbe@tapbot_paul Real questions: What has been accelerated through Metal (CA, CI are known, Quartz?)? What GPUs are supported?1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

@jfroy@tapbot_paul 1. Let’s see (easy from Instruments) 2. hence my question : limited to unified-mem GPUs, or exposing memory transfers.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

@warrenm@rsebbe@jfroy@tapbot_paul Craig mentioned Core Graphics, but if Quartz 2D Extreme didn't work for them, not sure why Metal would.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes
@LucasTizma @rsebbe @jfroy @tapbot_paul More reasons than I can even enumerate here.
