@warrenm You’re misunderstanding. I am not citing it as evidence of census of belief in ET encounters, but as evidence of evidence.
@taoeffect Here’s the thing. There are plausible explanations for every such phenomenon on public record. Hardly worth it to recapitulate.

@warrenm In these instances, I’ve read those “plausible explanations” and have found them to be less plausible than the account itself. -
@taoeffect And yet you dismiss the counterarguments as reductive, passing legitimate arguments off as “swamp gas” lunacy. -
@warrenm I’ve dismissed the counterarguments as less plausible. Example, “monkeys” and “owls” is nuts: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelly%E2%80%93Hopkinsville_encounter#Possible_alternative_explanations … -
@taoeffect I’m not saying the official story isn’t bogus. I’m saying there’s nothing about it that sounds ET or anything other than mundane. -
@warrenm You should read the full detailed account. Wiki has been redacted a bit since I read that page. -
@taoeffect Can you provide me with a link to it? I’ll definitely review it in detail if you do. -
@warrenm Seems full account is found in books. I read this around 2010 originally, you can see how much changed: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Kelly%E2%80%93Hopkinsville_encounter&oldid=392791628 … -
@warrenm I wish I had finished MotionWiki… you’d be able to see the page’s history animate. Lots of diffs: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Kelly%E2%80%93Hopkinsville_encounter&diff=cur&oldid=392791628 … - 5 more replies
