IMO, the failure of @iAWriter to expose font settings even as a user default is an example of arrogance rather than adherence to principle.
@iAWriter Mostly referring to Mac, though it would similarly be nice to be able to tweak the font via the app settings bundle on iOS.

@warrenm Rather than adding prefs we’ve based Writer for Mac’s font size on window width. Thinking behind this: http://ia.net/blog/bringing-responsiveness-the-app-world/ … … -
@iAWriter Yeah, I've read your reasoning and I disagree. I didn't post that lightly, and it would seem an awful lot of people agree with me. -
@warrenm …If you don’t mind me asking, what would you prefer to change the font size to? -
@iAWriter It's more the typeface than the font size, but I'd like to go down to 12pt, in a monospace of my choosing: http://twitpic.com/cq85t0 -
@warrenm Umm, wow :O :) Please try holding a paperback novel at your normal reading distance & comparing type size to the screen… -
@iAWriter Your argument doesn't cover my use case. I want to write in greater privacy on public transit. -
@warrenm Aah, thank you for mentioning this. If you’re using a phone, have you considered a privacy screen protector? -
@iAWriter Certainly! Just wanted to add one more voice for configurability, even if the settings are buried in user defaults, etc. - 2 more replies
