@warrenm John Carmack responded to the question in the Kotaku comments section in the source code release article.
Noticed that id's C++ code often specifies `const` for by-value params. Seems redundant and like an abstraction leak. Any real advantages?

@Skychrono I've read it and his#AltDevBlogADay post on FP. I just don't think constness of by-value params belongs in the public interface.
