Man I love Akihabara. It's been a while, but I remember these parts-scavenger stalls where you could get a tupperware box and a screwdriver and go to town on old bits of factory equipment. Do they still have that?
I didn’t find one, but that’s exactly where my mind went as well! Seems to skew heavily toward consumer vs electronics hobbyist these days, but maybe if you know where to look…
