Spent an afternoon running around Akihabara; found some classics of CS literature, including TAoCP Vol. 2 & 3, The Red Book, @ChristerEricson’s Real-Time Col Det, and…The Swift Graveyardpic.twitter.com/ltinS2v3Wa

Wow, I’d forgotten about that! I really wish Apple would realise how much potential QC has and push it. (Been using it heavily this last week too!
You mean you haven’t been as productive in Swift Playgrounds? I would’ve thought that a pile of hacks on top of a rickety infrastructure on top of a slow-as-fuck compiler would be just as good as technology seemingly crafted by time-traveling alien geniuses.
Yeah that sums it up :D I had need of a very specific astrophotography image, nearly impossible to take in the required timescale… Luckily a while back I made a pretty decent night sky simulator in QC with simulated camera too. Had it doing 4k*4k in real-time :)
why would you not make such an app in a regular Xcode project though?
Because it would be weeks of difficult work in Xcode, vs. maybe a day of fun hacking in QC? :)
ah up to a full day is what I also call tinkering. if it takes longer, I move it to a project. I only asked because from the description you gave, it sounded more complex :)
It is, this would be a major project if i built it in Xcode :) This is why QC is so damn good, I can build something like that 100x faster :D (And I can also modify it to output every layer as transparent PNGs for photoshop in a couple of minutes. Try that with code!)
hmmm you got me interested in QC again!
