    @warkolm I read @aphyr's post on @elasticsearch and his talk. What are your thoughts on ES as a long term audit log store? cc @golgy

    @golgy @warkolm @aphyr @elasticsearch will grow to 7 years worth of audit logs. The need to be maintained for auditing purposes.

    @falican @golgy @warkolm I suggest S3.

    @aphyr @golgy @warkolm yeah think of using logstash to push to s3 and ES. That way if ES durability fails we can rebuild from S3.

    @falican durability in ES isn’t a major problem these days, take a look at http://www.elasticsearch.org/guide/en/elasticsearch/resiliency/current/index.html … for info on our view

        @warkolm yeah I've read through that, looks like you're all working very hard. I've got an abundance of caution today. Appreciate the time.

        @falican re-read that article, most of the complaints in it are pre 1.0 btw, given we’re probably not far off 1.5, grains of salt needed ;)

      @warkolm @falican "isn't a major problem these days" does not jive with any of the discussions I've had with ES users in the last six months
