Ok, I can't resist posting some ideas: vote, volunteer, donate, join local civic groups, show up at protests (because it's the right thing to do and because it builds momentum), talk to friends and family to make sure they're registered, volunteer to drive voters to polls . . .

run for local office, go hear candidates speak, bring a friend with you, write and call members of Congress, donate to watchdog groups, donate to candidates, pass out literature, refrain from posting tweets that discourage action, go to meetings of local organizing groups . . .

sign up to be an election observer, sign up for a job as an election official, be vocal in opposing efforts to purge voter rolls or suppress votes, talk to that older or younger relative who might not vote, organize locally by starting a group, flag disinformation on social media

Dress rehearsals for election day, all through the year. Everyone marches to their polling place, where there's music, food, speeches. Make voting a bigger part of our culture.

I think the most important thing we can do is make sure people are actively registered to vote, get to their polling places, vote, and make sure elected officials know they are being held accountable for ballot security, starting with their choice of voting systems.

Write postcards to voters, join a group and canvas for candidates, donate to candidates, phone bank. Voting alone will not get the job done.
