Smartest thing in this thread is advice to ‘wait and see’. The analysis of Musk not understanding social media is ridiculous (of course), he’s both an avid and long time user and very data driven. I predict this will be a stunning success.

I'd be quite happy with a Mastodon server most of my geographical located people are pn (because I am quite connected at city level) plus federation for deep thinkers and interesting oddballs. Twitter's main stream has too much US,democracy in flames content.

Musk likes controlled chaos. He may find his Twitter vanity project starts controlling him. Stand by for lots of pouting and foot stamping...
I really wish people would quiet quit Twitter; all I've seen lately is loud, obnoxious declarations of quit.
