A 101-year-old man, who has had to apply for settled status to stay in the UK after 54 years here, was rejected because the Home Office app does not allow him to enter 1919 as a birthdate. Dehumanisation by design and default.

"As a survey designer, I’ve done many tests on such ‘hint’ icons [tooltips], containing additional copy. In our tests, respondents almost never see them, and of those that do very few access them. We concluded to never use them for anything we actually want a user to see."

The javascript community fought hard for the fat arrow syntax, () => {}. It’s shorter for sure. But way more annoying to type on a regular basis than function() {}. And that is the folly of programmer culture IMO. Constantly optimizing the wrong things for the wrong reasons.

Pro tip: Associating a form element with its label using the `for` attribute will trigger its `hover` pseudo selector, eg. hovering the label will trigger hover styles for the form element. No JS required.
