The climate crisis affects our health, our economy, and our planet – we need action now. That’s why I’m fighting to implement Tacoma’s Climate Action Plan, lower our greenhouse gas emissions, and set us on the path to net-zero emissions!

Investing in our community is the only way to improve public safety for all Tacomans. I am committed to making sure the police force is fully-staffed and alternative response units have the resources to succeed so that we can restore Tacoma as a safe community. Let’s get it done.

We’re also partnering with the Tacoma Fire Department to build a Behavioral Health Crisis Response Team – a unit responding to 911 calls from those in mental health crises. People in crisis deserve trained mental health professionals to help meet their needs.

We need community & crisis response teams to lead our community as first responders to nonviolent, noncriminal emergencies. I am proud to share that we are making progress on this front by investing in Community Service Officers & freeing up police to focus on urgent crime.

I believe we must take a more holistic approach to public safety. We can’t expect police to tackle increasing violent crime while simultaneously being social workers and mental health counselors. We need more resources to free up officers so they can do their job.

No matter where you live, you deserve access to clean water to drink and air to breathe. That’s why I fought to improve the quality of the air we breathe, strengthen environmental protections in the Port, and invest $17 million to combat climate change.

As a mom, I know public safety is a top priority. Only by expanding community programs & investing in people will we improve public safety for everyone. I’m working to implement our crime plan, ensure the police force is fully-staffed, and invest in alternative response units.

In my first term, I’ve worked hard to create opportunity, close equity gaps, and address racial disparities. I’m focused on supporting and empowering Tacoma's youth, expanding economic opportunity, improving multimodal transportation and protecting access to green spaces for all.

A stirring endorsement for NO on 976 from @CascadeBicycle and @WAbikes! "Initiative-976 would have a detrimental impact on funding that goes towards safe, comfortable routes for kids to get to and from school and projects that increase safety and accessibility for people...
