He also seems incapable of recognizing that perhaps the Nazi party of 1920 might be different from that of 1930. Or also that Hitler might be playing politics here trying to appeal to economically depressed voters (he was.)

I'll bet D'Souza doesn't know the Nazis were a "thing" before Hitler. A group he coopted and molded to his own designs, for sure; but, not one he created.
