I'm also particularly interested in this as an antirape feminist. Having a rape-supportive/tolerant peer group is one of the risk factors for committing sexual assault. The Internet has provided unprecedented access to myths and communities that increase rape proclivity.

And it's pertinent to my activist side because social media has been integral to my success as an activist. Social media has changed a LOT very quickly and tolerance of the racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc. and accompanying harassment has limited feminist organizing

The pipeline is no excuse for racism, sexism, etc. Nor is it the norm. But the access to this ideology is much easier and that has a societal impact we already see.
