KS is dissolving parliament, not restoring it. KS is supported by the autocratic regimes in the region. That’s telling. Ignoring this context is willful blindness to the anticipated outcome. 5/end.

Constitutional Declaration of November had an end in mind - writing of the constitution. The constitutional committee was in danger of it being dissolved by the SCC. Ignoring these facts is ideological historical revisionism. 4/

People seem to forget that President Morsi actually held legislative powers from august 12 till his November constitutional declaration. The sparsity with which he used these powers is on record. 3/

It's entirely predictable, and it happens regularly; but it never ceases to surprise me that writing on bigotry brings out the bigots and the hate-mail.

When an Arab-American or American Muslim government official is attacked as a “terrorist sympathizer”, it should be called out clearly and without hesitation for what it is—racism and islamophobia. Full stop. There is no debate or both sides here. It’s just bigotry.

Earlier today I responded to a post on Abortion. I have since taken down the post. Not because I believe what I had to say was irrelevant but because every single person personally attacked me. Ridiculous.
