  6. 4⃣ Margaret Cavendish Cavendish was a writer of poems and essays, published under her own name at a time when women wrote anonymously. She is buried next to her husband, William. Her effigy shows her holding a book, pen-case and ink well. Discover more:

    3️⃣ Angela Burdett-Coutts   This great Victorian philanthropist applied her fortune to many charities connected with the Church of England, the poor, children and animals.
 She died of acute bronchitis and was buried at the Abbey in 1907.   Discover more:

    A memorial to Scientist Robert Hooke was unveiled in the Abbey in 2005. Hooke was curator of experiments before being elected Fellow at the Royal Society. He played a major role in the rebuilding of London after the great fire. Discover more:

    2⃣Mary Queen of Scots Mary was a claimant to the Crown and a danger to her cousin Elizabeth I. She fled to England after her army was routed and she was confined by Elizabeth and finally executed. Mary's tomb is in the Lady Chapel. Discover More:

    Lawyer and Abolitionist William Murray, Lord Mansfield was born in 1705. He was Lord Chief Justice of England from 1756-88 and played a key role in ending slavery in England with his judgment in the case of James Somerset. Discover more:
